Equestrian Specific Performance Enhancement
Brainspot your way to your best ride.
Use brainspotting to build confidence, heal after a fall or traumatic experience, and deepen the connection with your horse.
Katie specializes in working with equestrians who may be seeking to recover from an injury, fall or traumatic experience with their horse, overcome performance anxiety, or simply enhance the connection with their horse. Because of horses' sensitivity to our energy, Brainspotting can also enhance the effectiveness of training sessions, as it helps to relax our sympathetic nervous system, remove negative energies from past experiences we may be carrying, and increasing healthy connection to our horse.
BSP is not a replacement for work with a trainer, but an additional support for the horses human to help them access their most healthy and positive energy, confidence and connection to their body.
Sessions with equestrians can be done in person in my Westbrook office, via telehealth or at your barn with your horse present if you wish for them to be a part of the process. ( within a 20 mile radius of Gray, ME)
In addition to being a certified brainspotting practitioner, Katie is also trained in equine assisted therapy, is an equestrian herself and has a passion for understanding of how horses and humans impact each other. She is influenced by trainers such as Chris Lombard, Warwick Schiller, Megan Harmon, BTMM and the TRT Method, among others. She uses this intersection of professional training and personal experience to guide and deepen the process when working with horses and their humans.

Katie believes that horses provide unique opportunities to explore parts of ourselves and grow as humans, both in and out of the saddle. Because of how sensitive they are to our energy, it is imperative that we do our own work before expecting them to be able to show up for us. Katie and her own horse, Meeko, have benefited from brainspotting in Katie’s own journey owning a horse as an adult and continue to grow together.
